Today I thought of Dad at the meeting. Oh, such a hard meeting to get to for various reasons, but was, of course, so glad to have made it. Like Dad would remind us... " test me out, please..".
The talk was so upbuilding but it was the WT that was touching. I found myself getting "into' it and feeling all excited and mentally jazzed about the subject and that it was based on ....PROPHECY. It literally hit me, when someone commented: "yes, these subjects on prophecy sure do take a bit to sink your head into..but it's good that we do.." I got teary then, knowing WHY i was all jazzed and particularly 'into" this lesson. Why.. was because dad taught us to. Dad loved it, so I love it. Dad's brains loved to get exercise on prophecy so mine does too. Dad loved to share his enthusiasm with others on prophecy, so, I do too. That would explain, why despite being so exhausted, physically, emotionally and mentally drained this particular day, thinking i'd be "filling up a chair", I manage to comment twice. That would also describe the look on my husbands face after my second comment, like.."where'd you pull that out of"... ( since I am no where near a regular commenter these days due to a generally being in the back hall with a sleeping baby on me.) It was dad. And it was wonderful. I feel so honored to be like dad in any way I am. To have gained anything and everything of value from him. To read and enunciate reading a sentence straight out of the WT like he did. I kind of felt like him for a second. Not like him, really, but more of an acknowledgement that I am his daughter and am now "catching" things that I do that remind me of what dad did. Aren't we all...
I used to always think.. how can dad comment and read a sentence straight out of the paragraph, add a little on the beginning and end, throw in a few perfectly placed pauses and have his comment sound like the most profound thing you've ever heard in your life! Man, Jehovah gave him some gifts. Thank you Jehovah for helping me think of my dad today. I can't wait to say.."hey dad!! We learned about Jehovah's mountain!! It's really, not only 1 but BECAME 2 mountains... and how they split... and His legs ....being anchored on both sides... is what forms this valley... can't wait..aw, man.. can't wait.
